Dr. Rodney P. Hughes is an assistant professor of higher education administration at West Virginia University. His areas of study include college access and affordability, labor economics, data use in education, and college and university governance. He has published articles in the Review of Higher Education, Journal of Higher Education Policy and Management, and the Journal of Education Finance and has presented papers at the annual meetings of the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE), the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the Association for Institutional Research (AIR), the Association for Education Finance and Policy (AEFP), and the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM). His courses at West Virginia University include Higher Education Administration, Higher Education Finance, Contemporary Issues in Higher Education, College Athletics Administration, Quantitative Research Methods in Education, and Quantitative Data Management for Education. Hughes received a PhD in Higher Education and an MA and BS in Economics from the Pennsylvania State University. He also worked as research manager in the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University from 2013 to 2016.
