Dr. Malayna Bernstein earned her bachelor's degree in English from Wesleyan University. She then obtained her master's and Ph.D., both in Learning Sciences and both from Northwestern University. Her research interests include teacher cognition, social contexts for learning, literacy, and qualitative research design. As of 2012, Dr. Bernstein co-directs the National Writing Project at West Virginia University, designed to facilitate writing-focused professional development with teachers from across the region.
